This year autumn/winter 2001 Holly’s collection had it all – prints, colours, luxurious fabrics, embellishment and of course glamorous nails. Here are the tips from Nailgirls how to create New Gen look!

The hair: Strength was the key word when legendary session stylist, Duffy, created the hair. Creating an asymmetric retro rockabilly look, the team created a french twist on one side of the head with a chignon-roll on the other. Meanwhile the front was finished with an overtly dramatic finger wave, moulded and sculpted with a wet-look finish. The aim – soft and feminine at the back, hard and scultped at the front.

The makeup: Sexy lesbian vampire’s was the word of the day at Holly Fulton, with the hair and makeup referencing a strong, empowered woman with a vampire-esque quality. Makeup was sculpted and strong – lips were defined with an intense glossy lips ranging from burgundy through to off-black depending on the girl. Eyes were slicked with lashings of mascara, backcombed at the base to create extra depth.

The nails: Jenny Longworth and Nailgirls team used the blood-hued Nailgirls Red #4 polish on the models nails finished with a shiny coat of Nailgirls Super Finish.

Nailgirls were lucky enough to work again on London Fashion Week shows!

Caltwalk round number one was Felder Felder, who’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection was astounding success at London Fashion Week. Transformation collection stole the runway, giving the army of fallen angels marching to the techno beats in rock-luxe wear.

The Hair: Nick Irwin and the TIGI Creative Team created textured tribal up ‘do inspired by Siouxie Sioux. To represent the dual personality of the Felder Felder twins Daniela and Annete, the hair was sectioned into two and tied into half pulled-through ponies. From the front boyish and androgynous, with a profile view offering an undercut effect. The result – offbeat, easy to achieve and totally uncontrived.

The Makeup: Georgina Graham from MAC created the quintessential Felder Felder girl – strong, punk and offbeat yet with an overtly feminine edge. To keep the look tough, Georgina gave the girls a strong, over-defined lip in a deep navy blue. Skin was left clean and glossy, with a dewy finish. Eyes were given a thick feline flick with liquid liner.

The Nails: Jenny Longworth and the Nailgirls Pro Team mixed three Nailgirls nail polishes (Purple 8, Matte Grey, Khaki 1) to create a great lilac-based greige. To give nails the glamorous shine, it was finished with Nailgirls Super Finish top coat.

And even though not all of us can create the exact runway look, each and everyone can afford to be creative and fearless of being themselves!
